1. Definition
   Pre-oxidized fiber is a kind of high-performance fiber material. It is mainly obtained by subjecting polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber to a pre-oxidation treatment under certain conditions such as at a temperature range of 200 - 300 °C and in an air atmosphere. During this pre-oxidation process, the molecular structure of the fiber changes from the original linear molecular chain structure to a ladder-like molecular chain structure containing stable cyclic structures.

1. Performance Characteristics

 

• Excellent Flame Retardancy: Pre-oxidized fiber has good flame retardant properties, with a relatively high limiting oxygen index (LOI), generally reaching around 40 - 60. This is because the molecular structure formed after pre-oxidation contains a large number of carbon-nitrogen (C-N), carbon-oxygen (C-O) and other chemical bonds. These chemical bonds are relatively stable when heated and are not easy to decompose to produce combustible gases, thus effectively preventing the spread of flames.
• Good High-Temperature Resistance: It can withstand relatively high temperatures and will not melt or decompose drastically within a certain period of time.
