Meta-aramid silver-coated fabric is a functional composite material with a silver layer coated on the surface of meta-aramid fabric. Meta-aramid, namely poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide) fiber, possesses excellent heat resistance, flame retardancy, mechanical properties and chemical stability, etc. Meanwhile, the silver coating endows it with good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and electromagnetic shielding properties. The combination of these two makes meta-aramid silver-coated fabric a high-performance and multi-purpose material.

Performance Characteristics

 
  • Outstanding Heat Resistance: Meta-aramid itself has good thermal stability and can be used for a long time in a high-temperature environment above 200 °C. The existence of the silver coating has little impact on its heat resistance. Therefore, meta-aramid silver-coated fabric can maintain relatively good performance under high-temperature conditions and is not prone to problems such as deformation and embrittlement.
  • Excellent Flame Retardancy: Meta-aramid is an inherently flame-retardant fiber with a limiting oxygen index greater than 28.
